Indianapolis – home of the Indy 500 – also gets a checkered victory flag for shopping opportunity. Near the capital city’s Monument Circle central hub: Circle Centre, with more than 100 shopping, dining, and entertainment options bounded by Illinois, Washington, Meridian, and Georgia streets. Broad Ripple Village provides pedestrian-friendly experiences at shops, boutiques, and eateries. Castleton Square, northeast near I-465 with 130 shops, is anchored by Dick’s Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Macy’s, Sears, and Von Maur. In Carmel and billed as the “first outdoor lifestyle center in Indiana,” Clay Terrace features more than 70 retailers including Z Gallerie, Kirkland’s, Three Chairs, and Norwalk Furniture. Greenwood Park Mall, with 135 specialty shops near Canseco Field House and the airport, is anchored by L.S. Ayres, Lazarus, JCPenney, Sears, Von Maur, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Lafayette Square, on the city’s west side with 90 specialty shops, is anchored by Burlington Coast Factory, L.S. Ayres, Sears, and Steve & Barry’s University Sportswear. In Hendricks County’s Plainfield near the airport, Metropolis is anchored by JCPenney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and an 18-screen stadium-seating Rave Theatre. Fashion Mall at Keystone Crossing, anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Parisian, features 95 specialty shops including Crate & Barrel, Sephora, Restoration Hardware, plus the Keystone Art Cinema & Indie Lounge. In Boone County, Zionsville beckons as one of few towns in the U.S. with a preserved brick main street, home to some 50 shops and boutiques near 19th century homes. South of Indianapolis, Johnson County’s Edinburgh features Edinburgh Premium Outlets with more than 85 outlet stores from Banana Republic to Tommy Hilfiger.
